The Sony A6400 Body in black is a mirrorless camera in APS-C format that takes over many of the functions that are normally reserved for full-frame cameras. This includes an autofocus of 0.02 seconds, Real-time Eye AF and Real-time Tracking capabilities, high speed shooting up to 11 fps and silent recording with up to 8 fps, both with AF / AE tracking, an improved BIONZ X image processor, a fully tiltable 180° LCD touch screen, UHD 4K movie recording with full pixel readout and without pixel binning, internal recording for time-lapse videos and more.

The Sony A6400 is suitable for both photo and video creators, ranging from professionals to vloggers. The camera has a 24.2 MP Exmor CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor, a wide expandable sensitivity range from ISO 100 to 102,400, combined with accelerated read speeds for internal 4K30 and Full HD 1080p120 video recordings with full pixel readout. The processor is also beneficial for videographers with the inclusion of an S & Q (Slow & Quick) Motion setting that allows Full HD video to be captured with a variety of frame rates of 1-120 fps, plus HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), which supports HDR workflows and both S-Log2 and S-Log3 for flexibility in color sorting. Photographers also benefit from the processing speed, allowing continuous shooting at 11 fps for up to 116 JPEGs or 46 raw photographs in a burst, as well as 14-bit raw file output. The sensor and processor combination also features 425-point phase detection with wide coverage and 425-point contrast detection systems for fast and accurate focus performance. This focusing system also enables Real-time Eye AF, which ensures improved accuracy, speed and tracking performance of Eye AF, so that the eyes of your subject are automatically detected. Real-time tracking also uses AI-based object recognition and processes color, subject distance (depth) and pattern (brightness) and spatial information to ensure that all subjects can be accurately captured.
